Scope of Service
This scope of service deals with the report service offered by the Independent Kitchen Advice Bureau (IKAB).
The report is to be used as part of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process between a Consumer and
Kitchen Supplier/Installation Contractor and is operated by IKAB.
The Consumer is required to provide access to the property together with any legal or design information
necessary to allow an assessment of the project to facilitate the performance of our duties as Independent
Experts.
The survey will be based on a visual inspection only with no testing or assessment of gas or electrical
installations.
The Consumer is to inform the surveyor of all health & safety risk that might require special measures during
the survey to allow safe inspection. Should the consumer have a special circumstance that might need to be
factored in the balance of the report they are to provide full details at the earliest opportunity to allow these
matters to be considered during the inspection.
The report will be in writing possibly with digital photographs but less drawings or sketches and provided in PDF and
one hard copy format within 7 days of inspection of site.
The Surveyor shall:
- Inspect site and the kitchen in dispute.
- Consider the background information provided and record in the report the key information
discussed.
